Trump is now deciding his cabinet, now that he has won the election of 2016. People are beginning to realize that President Trump's short list of possible role takers are all unconventional. Trump has come to a agreement with who will take key national security appointments. Sen. Jeff Sessions is now the leading contender for attorney general, and is in the mix for secretary of defense as well, say multiple sources with knowledge of the transition. On another note, retired Lt. General Ron Burgess, former director of the DIA, is a leading contender for director of national intelligence. Also retired General Michael Flynn is leading candidate for national security adviser. For the secretary of state it is possible that Rudy Giuliani may take the role. John Bolton is also in the circle of possibility of secretary of state. Also Senator jeff sessions is a possible candidate for attorney general or secretary of defense. Lastly Lt.Gen. Michael Flynn is a possible for national security adviser. The Knife fight is between these roles and people that Trump will choose for his cabinet of staff.

I feel that Trump isn't ready to be president, thus why his list is so short. As we discussed in class today, he'll have to choose over 1,000 other candidates for other important positions, not just these key security positions. If he's already struggling with finding people for his cabinet, I don't think that he'll do a good job with the many more he'll have to choose in the future before the inauguration in January.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Haley that maybe he isn't ready or prepared to be our president. He is choosing people that don't have a good background in politics and I think that is unconventional.
ReplyDeleteI feel his list is so short because he has not considered the possibility or value of other candidates and hopes to make the process easier on himself be going with such a short of people. This short list is unconventional because it leaves out qualifies people he is unwilling to consider for these positions.
ReplyDeleteI believe that his list is so short because he has offended so many people during his campaign and the majority of people are either offended by him or would not want to associate with him so he is forced to consider who he has left as valid options.
