Vote Recount Push Advances, but Reversing Trump’s Win Is Unlikely

Jill Stein, Presidential candidate for the Green party is raising money for the votes to be recounted in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania because she believes that the votes possibly could have been hacked or interfered with. Stein is demanding that the votes be counted by hand, but the elections commission rejected it and Stein said she would sue. Stein stated, “We would not want to be collaborating with the Clinton campaign on this.” However, Clinton will have her lawyers present at the recount, but will not be contributing any money towards it. 7 million dollars are needed to be raised for the recount to happen and 6.3 million has already been raised. Wisconsin needs to receive 3.5 million dollars for the recount and if they do, it will begin on Wednesday, finished on Dec 12th, certified on Dec 13th, and the Electoral College votes on Dec 19th.
In response to this, Mr. Trump’s spokesman, Jason Miller, said in an email that the “mere talk of a recount by someone who got less than 1%” — Ms. Stein — “is a joke.” Trump is calling this scam by the Green party, and is also accusing states such as California, Virginia and New Hampshire for voter fraud.

Do you think it is possible for this recount to reverse Trump’s win?
Do you support the vote recount?
Should Clinton help fund the vote recount?

  1. There is no way that the votes can change the outcome of the election, but it is good to spend some money just to oust corruption for the future.

  2. It is possible to reverse Trump's win even without a recount. When the electors vote on December 19th they could easily just vote for Hillary. Some electors would receive consequences for that, but it is possible and it can be done. Will enough states do that? Probably not, but I think a few will. Either way recount will not reverse his win. I do not support the recount because even Clinton said that you must respect the results of an election. However, it seems Stein doesn't have the brain to comprehend what Clinton said. If Clinton does help fund the recount, then she is just further funding her results of losing. I hope she enjoys. I hope she funds it.

  3. This is more evidence of the nastiness of this election. Trump and Clinton both accused each other of things that they themselves had done. Clinton said she would respect the vote, but she is helping fund this recount. Trump said that the votes are rigged, yet he believes that the votes counted in these three states are accurate. There is no end to the pettiness involved in this election.

  4. I agree with Mr. Rectangleman. The recount won't reverse the decision of the election, but the motion to do so shows that the people want to fight against corruption.

  5. The voter recount of the election will not change who our president will be, but it is an interesting situation in which I think a lot of people will support considering the uproar after election night.

  6. Say it with me Bernie Bernie Bernie. I think we should do the recount but instead of putting Hillary Clinton's name down against Trump we change it to Bernie Sanders our lord and savior from the oppression. It is like what the other kids have been saying, this will probably be meaningless the main point here to take away is that people can get so played sometimes. Like 5 million dollars in 2 weeks for this fruitless effort. There isn't going to be any refunds and the Green Party will get stronger.

  7. I believe that a recount could not make a difference. Trump has won the election and that needs to be accepted and moved on from

  8. I don't think the recount is going to change anything, and Trump will still be president.

  9. I do not believe would make a difference in who our president will be. I think that instead of trying to change the outcome, people need to focus on the future.

  10. I do not believe the vote would make a difference to the election. Moreover, we have not even given trump a chance to be President. Yes, I agree that some of his policies are ridiculous, we still need to be open and if worse comes to worse that's when we protest and fight for what is right.

  11. I do not think it will change who our president is if the votes are recounted. Its sad that Trump won but there is nothing we can do about it anymore

  12. I know there is no chance to reverse Trumps win, Liberals just have to accept the fact of that. I do not support the recount, I believe it is a waste of time and money.

  13. It will not reverse Trumps win, Jill Stein had her 15 seconds of fame and just wants to be under the spotlight again. I don't support the re-count and i think it will just cost more money and end up with the same result.

  14. As everyone stated above, this probably won't change the results of the election. The election of Trump is disappointing, but democrats need to come to terms with it and decide how to deal with it through real political activity, not complaining. I'd shocked if there really was a difference, but anything can happen I suppose

  15. I do not think it is possible to reverse Trump's win. Even if Clinton was to become presidnet, I do not think much would changes. We have to wait for the future and see the income.

  16. I don't think there should be a recount because if there is a recount and Trump still wins, it'll be a major waste of money altogether.

    ReplyDelete
  17. There is a very slim chance that this will actually happen. Honestly the recount would just be a waste of time, we should now address the issues that we are facing as a nation. I think Clinton would be wasting more money by doing the recount.

  18. The recount has a little to no chance of changing the election results. As well if the recount does not succeed it further shows that Trump won.

  19. I believe that it would be a waste of time and money to recount all of the votes in those states because the election isn't going to change. The facts are that Trump is going to be our next president and although it is disappointing it is reality.

  20. I highly doubt that the recount would change anything since Clinton won the popular vote by so much because California had so many people vote for her. So the recount really wouldn't change anything as far as I am concerned.

  21. I don't think that a recount will change anything. Even if he lost the popular vote by a huge margin it would still not change anything because our country runs on the electoral college system. I think although a recount might show that Clinton won the popular vote by millions, it won't do anything in the end so it it somewhat pointless.

  22. I doubt that the recount will change the results of the election. The electoral college system is set and despite the popular vote, Trump won the election because of the electoral college. I do not think that Clinton should fund the recount

  23. Even if there is a recount, and Clinton win it, which is highly unlikely, there will be a massive out rage in the public from the people who did vote for Trump. Because even though many of us want to deny it, Trump did win the election fair and square.

  24. I do not think the recount would change the results of the election, but it definitely does expose some unfairness and the lack of diplomacy between the two candidates, especially with Trump declaring illegal voting in several states. The electoral college voted Trump in despite Clinton winning the popular vote. This generated controversy; however, this is the outcome of the election.

  25. haha ok I actually laughed at this quote: "mere talk of a recount by someone who got less than 1%” — Ms. Stein — “is a joke." That was really mean but also funny. Honestly, if Stein wants to do it to make sure the electoral college is still fair, then sure. But if she thinks that it will change anything, I think she just needs to stop. Trump did a great job in this election, not that im a trump supporter, and he had the charisma for it the role of a president, and I think that's why he appealed to some people.

  26. I don't think a recount will change the outcome of the election ,and I don't think Clinton would pay for the recount because the recount most likely won't change anything.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I think the recount is kind of pointless and we shouldn't get caught up with it but we should focus on how Trump could better his presidency since he won the election.

    ReplyDelete
  28. The recount may not really cause a change and I agree with the people who said that it is a waste of time and money. At the end of the day the result is going to stay the same, also a miscount could occur too. Clinton is doing good in not participating on funding anything for the recount.

  29. I dont think the votes will make a difference in elected Clinton it will just be trump, theres nothing we can do about it sadly. I support the vote recount it just wont help in unelecting trump. Clinton should help raise money for this vote recount if she wants to be president.

  30. I don't think the recount is going to do anything. Hillary conceded, meaning she gave up. Trump is going to be our President and I think we are all going to have to deal with that. I personally don't agree with the recount just because I don't think it's going to make a difference. I think that Clinton has done everything she could have so I think it would be wasted money for her to try and fund it.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I do not support the recount for various reasons. First off Clinton should not support the recount either since she stated she would respect the decision of presidency but as seen, she has helped fund the recount. In addition, both candidates are tremendously bias concluding that what they say is a joke. There is no way that Clinton will become president, what's done is done

    ReplyDelete
  32. I don't think recounting the votes is going to change anything, unless she finds that somehow the election was rigged

    ReplyDelete
  33. I think that the recount is being implemented well. Its good that it isn't being pushed by a candidate that would benefit from the outcome of recounting votes. I don't think it will change things in a major way but if having votes be recounted changes the outcome of even one state it will reveal something fishy.

  34. Recount or not, the results of the election will not likely be reversed. However, I agree that Jill Stein's claims to want nothing to do with the Clinton campaign during the recount are kind of ridiculous. I'm suspicious of Stein's motives since a recount would not benefit her in any way, but would maybe help Clinton.

  35. I support the vote recount but If there was one I don't think they'll be much of a difference.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Although I support the vote recount, I don't believe that it will have any impact on the election. What is done is done and there isn't anything that voters can do anymore to change the results of the election

    ReplyDelete
  37. I do not think a vote recount will provide an impact on the results, therefore I don't think it is wise to raise all this money for this purpose, but rather towards effective change or prevention before our next president does what he wants

    ReplyDelete
  38. I honestly do not think a recount will make a huge impact on the results of the election. Maybe there's a small chance that they'd discover some sort of fraud or rigged election, but in all honesty it's extra time and extra money. Although the results are devastating, perhaps it's time to accept the results and move on.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I also agree that doing a recount is almost a waste of time at this point. It is very unlikely that the recount will change anything and I think we should work on fighting for him to change his policies rather than doing a recount.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I do not believe that the recount will effect the decision. I am not for it but i'm not against. Overall I just do not care. I believe she should if she is that desperate.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I don't think the recount will effect much. I don't really care if they recount I don't think it will do much. If I were Clinton I would want a recount because I would've been his compaction.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I do not believe that the recount will effect much. However, I care that they do it because it shows just how many people are not happy with the results and hope that it changes. If I were Clinton, I would continue to fight for recounts because you never know if it could have been extremely wrong, and with how important this election is, I believe that it is important to be 100% sure.

  43. There is no way that Clinton will become president, what's done is done. Like 5 million dollars in 2 weeks for this fruitless effort. There isn't going to be any refunds and the Green Party will get stronger.

  44. I think recounting the vote wont do anything. Everyone already had the chance to vote and they chose him as a president. I can agree that it's highly unlikely

    ReplyDelete
  45. Our government has abided with the electoral college system regardless of the popular vote. As mentioned above, Hilary Clinton conceded and so it would not make sense for her invest time and money on a recount. In addition, it would not have made a significant difference on the outcome of the election.

    ReplyDelete
  46. i agree with josh because recounting the vote wont do much to the election. However, it could show people if people did vote seriously, then maybe we would've had the president we wanted
