It's the final day before the election and the two candidates, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, are racing to gain as many votes as they can. Currently, Clinton has the lead, but it's very small. This could be why Trump plans on visiting four states: Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and New Hampshire. Clinton, on the other hand, is planning to visit Michigan, who she lost against Bernie Sanders. However, she also has the support of current President Obama, who also plans to visit Michigan in order to convince them to vote for the Democratic party. Just yesterday, the FBI director came to a final decision regarding Clinton's private email server. The result was that Clinton will not be facing any charges. While many believed that the FBI director was doing investigating this in order to advantage a certain political party or candidate, President Obama denied this, stating his confidence in the director.
1. If you could vote (or are voting tomorrow), who would you vote for and why?
2. Do you think it's possible for Trump to win the election, concerning the fact that Clinton's current lead is small?
3. Do you think that the FBI's conclusion regarding Clinton's private email server will affect the outcome of the race tomorrow? Could this still affect people's views on Clinton's?
I can guarantee that I would not vote. I am not a gullible American who thinks that their vote actually matters when it comes to the presidential election. It's more than clear that people are gullible enough to believe this. Yes it is 100% possible for Trump to win this election. However, his odds are still low. Just like I said, the votes of the people truly don't matter, yet no one wants to open their eyes. Trump could win the popular vote, yet I can guarantee that if he does, Hillary will still win. It's happened at least three times in the past. I don't believe the FBI's conclusion will affect the outcome. They were doing their job. I truly hope that it affects people's views on Clinton. She is not as good as everyone thinks. None of them are.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Paul on this that if I had the choice to vote I would not vote. Simply because all candidates have something wrong about them like Hiliary and the files that were sent out recently really changed everything because Trump seem to have lost until that had happened and now it could be anyone to win the president spot
ReplyDeleteYou should never discount the value of your vote. Various factions in this country have fought hundreds of years for the right to vote and some still don't have it. Once you turn 18, its good to get in the habit of voting, otherwise you lose your political voice and our democracy suffers. Now I understand frustration with candidates, given that this is the most divisive election we've ever seen at the national level. But don't forget that when you vote, you're also choosing a Senator, Representative, deciding on propositions, and responding to key local measures. So while this election may have frustrating elements to it, the right to vote is never something to take for granted.
ReplyDeleteI would not vote for either candidate because I personally do not have a preference on which of them becomes president. I'd rather neither of them become president so the outcome will be a lose whether I vote or not
ReplyDeleteI would vote for Hillary because I hate Donald Trump and I would want him to have a less likely chance of winning. Also, I would want to vote on all of the propositions. I really don't know who's going to win; it could really go either way. I think that the FBI email thing will effect the amount of people that vote for Clinton.
ReplyDeleteTo begin, I believe if you vote for a third party, that's like not voting at all. For me personally, I would vote for Clinton, because she actually believes in women's rights, LGBTQ+ rights, supports immigration, and thinks that climate change is a serious, international problem that should be addressed.
ReplyDeleteThis election seems to be one of the most conflicted and issue-ridden elections. Both main candidates meet heavy opposition from both each other, and even their own parties. Third-party candidates this election cycle are also sub-par, and they are really missing a good chance to finally get some ground. Unfortunately, this election has become a vote between the lesser of two evils, or a vote for an incompetent leader from a third party.

ReplyDeleteIf i could vote, I would have to do a anti Trump vote. I think that hillary is not the ideal candidate but I think it is worth voting for her due to the dangers of voting for trump
ReplyDeleteif i could vote, I'd vote for Hillary because i believe her views actually make sense, trump is just racist. I think it is possible for trump to win because of his pro gun ideas, lots of Americans love guns and want to support him. I don't think it will affect it but it might, because people might begin to have trust issues towards Clinton and my not vote for her.
ReplyDeleteThis is a tough election because I do not like either candidates. I personally think she is an embarrassment as a representative for the first female presidential candidate. She has put America in tough situations along with Obama in foreign policy and the market(which has already gone down by 800 points). I would definitely be surprised if Trump were to execute some of the things he has said.I do not trust either candidate. If I were to vote I would vote for Clinton because she has addressed many important issues, that trump has not.
ReplyDeleteI believe this election is on of the most narrowed one we have in the long run. However, I honestly would not vote for either of them because they are both a disgrace to our country not only for their views but their actions as well.
ReplyDeleteIf i could vote i would vote for Hillary because i don't want to support a man who supports such horrible things
ReplyDeleteI think Bernie Sanders is going to win. Right now CNN analysts are giving him 98% chance of winning so Ima believe that. We cannot allow a racist misognyist xenophobic orange buffoon to be head of America--it's an abomination. I'm with him, as in the one.
ReplyDeleteIf I could vote I would vote for Gary Johnson. I would vote for Johnson because I like his ideas, and he really turned around Arizona financially, and I think that is really important for the U.S. to turn around financially. I also think he has good civil rights premises, and he is respectful. I also do not support Trump or Clinton because I believe both their ideas are too radical, and I think Johnson is in the middle of both of them.
ReplyDeleteSeeing that it's the day after the election my point of view is kind of different. When I voted I voted against Trump, not for Hillary. I really do not like any of the choices that we have this year however I voted for who I thought would do the least amount of harm to our country. Unfortunately before I thought that Hillary was going to take the Presidency however I had a very bad feeling that there was a silent majority, and unfortunately I was right. I think that the FBI investigation had an effect on Clintons campaign but not a huge amount. I think that the investigation just reaffirmed what everyone already knew about Hillary. It has been a rough election.
ReplyDeleteI am most scared that most people will not vote. As an American citizen, it is their duty and obligation to vote. They would be abusing their power if they don't vote. Given this election, many people didn't vote and for some people, it made sense. Because of the electoral college system, for certain states that are consistently blue or red, for those people who are voting for the other party, know their vote won't count. If the election was based on the popular vote, it would be a lot more simple, and everyone's vote would be making a difference
ReplyDeleteWhoever voted for Harambe and Hennessy has to be the biggest mistake that Americans had to make. What was terrible is that those votes could have gone to Clinton and may have a change throughout the election. Also the people wanted Clinton, but instead they gave us Trump. So we will see how Trump will be.
ReplyDeleteAlthough the election is over and we now know that Trump will be the next president of the United States; I would have voted for Clinton because just the fact that she has a lot of experience in politics makes her seem more responsible and obviously more knowledgeable of the position of presidency.
ReplyDeleteif i could vote for anyone i would vote for Gary Johnson because even though i dont know him at all i know he's better than Hilary and Donald. I knew Donald trump was going to win from day 1...
ReplyDeleteIf I could vote I would have probably voted for neither. There has been many things that Trump has said which most likely will not happen. Clinton, on the other hand has trust issues, which is very important.
ReplyDeleteIf I could vote, then I would have visited a swing state and voted for Hillary Clinton because in California there really isn't much of an impact. The election is not based on popular vote.

ReplyDeleteVoting is extremely important, and it should not be a right taken for granted. Those ballots with Harambe written on them and the votes of those who are eligible but didn't vote could have made a difference. Trump won a lot of swing states by a small margin, and he even won mainly Democratic states. The FBI's conclusion about the private server could have affected the election since just weeks before, Clinton was projected to have a lead, especially after the debates.
ReplyDeleteIf I could vote, I would have voted for Clinton because I feel like she is more fit to be president. Even thought the election already happened. before, I thought Clinton was going to win because with all of rude and horrible comments Trump was making, and how he never really addressed what his policies are, I thought he wasn't going to win. I think that the emails had an affect on the vote and people voted against Clinton, even though the FBI concluded the emails to be cleared and nothing was in them.
ReplyDeleteIf I could vote, I would vote for Clinton because she is more trustworthy, despite the recent political stabs at her. While I do not believe either candidate is a perfect fit for presidency, It is important to vote for someone other than Trump to limit his chances of winning. Before the election, I thought Clinton was going to win because of the polls. However, as it turned out, Trump pulled ahead. This result poses a lot of questions for the future of America.
ReplyDeleteIf I was able to vote I would vote for Hillary. Hillary is a symbol for women and she has plans with back up information. Trump just talks nonsense and he sounds so immature, sadly he won. Hillary of course would have not been the best, but she would have been better off than Trump.
ReplyDeleteIf I were old enough to vote for this election, I definitely would have. Even though we live in blue state, our vote will still matter. We are able to vote on the different propositions, senators, etc. I think it is a privilege that should not be wasted.
ReplyDeleteIf I were able to vote, I would have voted for Hillary. Although the election has already passed, and I do not favor the outcome, I believe that every vote counts. This is the first time in awhile that the House, Senate, and the President are all from the same party. I think that the privilege of voting is something many Americans take for granted and we need to change the way we vote, in order to convince everyone that their vote actually does matter. In doing so, we will have a bigger population show up to vote, and the voters will most likely look into who they are voting for.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't vote for Trump. I personally feel that even though it is not necessary to have political background to run for office, it is crazy to believe a tv star can possibly run the country.
ReplyDeleteKnowing the results of the election, yes, it is possible for Trump to win the election, but prior to the election, no I didn't think the electoral college would have made that big of a mistake
Yes, reopening the investigation most likely hindered her chances to win, because undecided voters could have been swayed back to Trump after siding with Hilary. Also, people that sent early ballots can't change their vote after the ballot was mailed and the FBI closed the case.
If I were eligible to vote, I would have voted for Clinton because I don't support a president like Trump who states misogynistic, hateful, and discriminatory things towards people who deserve respect. I don't agree with his ideas especially about building a wall to separate millions of families apart as well.
ReplyDeleteI would have predicted that Clinton would win the election but I do believe that the FBI investigation could affect her campaign in a negative way.
ReplyDeleteIf I were able to vote, I would vote for Clinton because I think she is more qualified and I think that she has spent a lot of time in the political system and has given specifics on her solutions to social and global issues. I think it could still be a close race because you never know what can happen. I also think that the FBI investigation did have an affect on Clinton because I think that a lot of people began to have doubts or question what Clinton would hide if she were to be elected.
ReplyDeleteIf i could vote i dont think I would because I feel like I dont really have a good understanding on what is going on in the election. And i would like to be more informed before voting for something life changing
ReplyDeleteI felt most certain Trump would win for he showed the most confidence and effort throughout the coarse of his election into presidency.
ReplyDeleteI feel like i would of voted of Clinton if I was able to vote because she is very confident in anything and everything that she say... Sadly Trump won
ReplyDeleteI would have voted for clinton no doubt. I would not want trump to ever be or president. But he has become president, tragic.
ReplyDeleteBetween the two candidates, I would have voted for Clinton because she handled political stabs at her more professionally and has presented plausible solutions to certain social and economical issues.
