A children’s hospital along with two other hospitals were targeted by Syrian and Russian warplanes in Syria. A spokesperson from the IDA said that the heavy bombardment forced the staff to evacuate all patients for safety. According to Aleppo’s health director, every hospital in the eastern part of the city has now been destroyed depriving some Syrians from the medical help they need. Families spent their days and nights in basements or bomb shelters for protection. The White Helmets team which rescues survivors and puts out fires said they were struggling to reach all bomb sites and help all those injured. Medical facilities are now moving underground to dwindle the chance of being targeted. A White House National Security Adviser Susan Rice warned the Syrian regime and its ally, Russia, that they will be held accountable for the bombings of hospitals in rebel-held portions of Aleppo. Donald Trump has numerously said that he is open to working with Assad and Russia, whose forces are currently heavily striking East Aleppo. His election has incited fear in many Syrians as they believe with his winning the presidency, the target on their country will only increase.
Do you believe that with this new election, Syria will face an increase in attacks?
Is it hypocritical for America to condemn the bombings by Russia even though we have continuously turned our back on Syria?
How could America intervene and help Syria?
Yes i believe there will be in increase in attacks because they know what Trump has said about they race and they aren't ok with it either. Yes it is pretty hypocritical if you just condemn the bombings even though we've turned our back in Syria. America can intervene by sending our best troops and best aids to make Syria a safe zone.
ReplyDeleteI think that with Trump as our newly elected president, Syria will definitely be made more of a target. However, in order to not be hypocritical, America could help Syria by intervening and protecting them from these airstrikes and future ones.
ReplyDeleteI do believe that Syria will face an increase in attacks with Trump becoming president. America should help Syria by first obviously stop attacking them, but also send allies, medical supplies, food, water, etc. to the cities.
ReplyDeletei think it will become more of a target with Trump as president. We should help them by stopping the bombings.
ReplyDeleteWith Trump becoming president, I believe Syria will experience an increase in attacks. America could help by providing medical attention to all those who have been effected by the attacks along with shelter and food/water.
ReplyDeleteI feel that Syria could face more attacks with this new election. I think that the US should try to help Syria by giving aid to them with giving them food, water, and other medical supplies.
ReplyDeleteI think with Trump's election it has not only added to the fear if Syria but also America. In order to help Syria, I believe we should be sending some military for protection while also sending supplies to aid the wounded.
ReplyDeleteI believe there is a fine line between what Trump SAYS that he will do as president and what he's ACTUALLY going to do. He has already said that he doesn't really want to build a wall on the Mexican-US border, so hopefully he takes this back, too.
ReplyDeleteWe really need to focus on what we can do to bring these children and civilians to safety and away from bombings. I'm not entirely sure if Trump's presidency will increase the attacks, but America should intervene and send water, food, and medical aid to save the lives of affected children.
ReplyDeletei do think with trump being the new president there is a chance that there might be increased attacks, but then he also might pull out of the war, so its a 50/50 chance. yes because there is no point to condemn the attacks if you aren't willing to help that country out. They could help syria sign a peace treaty with russia.
ReplyDeleteI do not believe that the election has anything to do with airstrikes. I do not believe that it is hypocritical. The red cross can always step in to help these people just like every other time.
ReplyDeleteDonald Trump needs to be more specific about the ways in which he plans on working with Russia. Some of his comments lead American and Syrian people to believe that he will use American troops to join the attacks. If Trump plans on working with Russia to defeat ISIS, he needs to make it clear what ways he plans on doing this and what actions he will avoid taking to keep civilians out of harm's way.
ReplyDeleteIts likely that the airstrikes will increase, we have to get in an agreement with Russia to stop inflicting harm on civilians.
ReplyDeleteI think that there might be a chance for increased attacks with the newly elected president. I think that America could try to help by sending in medical help and supplies.
ReplyDeleteI think there will be an increase in attacks, but I hope that the attacks are directed at targets and not at the civilians of Syria because they do not deserve it. America could help protect the civilians and build more hospitals instead of not helping at all.
ReplyDeleteOur future President once said that we need to bomb the shit out of ISIS. I believe there is going to be more attacks and it will be with minimal consideration to civilian targets. I believe Trump's racism and bigotry will prove to make drone strikes to just be about killing the terrorist and winning the game.
ReplyDeleteI think that there might be an increase in attacks, but I really hope there isn't. American could help by providing supplies and helping those who are wounded.
ReplyDeleteThere is a high chance that attacks will continue. American intervention would be difficult because it will only worsen relations with Russia
ReplyDeleteYes, I believe that with the new presidency, there will be an increase in attacks on Syria. It is hypocritical considering we have turned our backs on Syria. We can help by providing humanitarian care.
ReplyDeleteI believe that the US government is incredibly hypocritical regarding airstrikes. this is not the first time such an "armed accident" has occurred. there are likely to be more attacks now than before, as we are transitioning from Obama's presidency which was centered around peace in the middle east
ReplyDeleteI feel Syria will continue to face attacks as there is no evidence suggest this violence will end. We cannot know where the government will go under Trump but, the way America can help Syria is by sending over even more aid to rescue people. We could also send forces, but this decision will be up to the president, and we do not know if this would help.
ReplyDeleteI believe that Syria's issues with attacks are far from over and it the right for the US to send aid to the Syrian people if they wish to get involved.
ReplyDeleteI belive that america will be wary of going in the conflict in Syria and will avoid continuing air strikes on civilian targets, I also know that blowing up hospitals and wanting to stay neutral are very different things so i do not think America would be hypocritical by condemning Russia for its blind attacks
ReplyDeleteI think Syria will face increased attacks because it happens so often. Also, America could help intervine with Syria by sending help and aid over there and also provide shelter.
ReplyDeleteI think that there is definitely the danger of more civilians being harmed, and that America should step forward to try and prevent damage through humanitarian aid.
ReplyDeleteI think Syrian attacks will not end anytime soon and if the US really wants to involve themselves in this, then they should continue/ start sending more aid.
ReplyDeleteI also agree that Syria would become more of a target now that Trump has been elected as President. The US should be involved with humanitarian actions in order to assist the innocent civilians affected by the conflict. I also believe that since the US is pursuing air strikes, this would definitely affect civilians in surrounding areas.
ReplyDeleteI believe that it is likely that there would be an increase in attacks on Syria with Trump being the president. I wouldn't say this is hypocritical because this is two different issues. The U.S. not helping Syrians does not mean that we have to support bombing Syria. To help Syria, America could allow some refugees in or set up refugee camps.
ReplyDeleteBecause of Trumps presidency, there could be increased attacks on Syria. America can help Syria by sending over medical help and finding ways to provide shelter for people there.
ReplyDeleteI believe that there can be an increase in attacks due to Trump's presidency and it will only get worse with time. I see this to be very low because they are bombing children hospitals, they are innocent children that do not even know why this is all about. This all has to be handled very carefully because I do not see this getting better.
ReplyDeleteI believe that it is likely to be an increase in attacks on Syria due to our new president elect. I also believe that once he becomes president, and throughout his term, these attacks will become more frequent and vicious. The United States should assist the innocent civilians affected by the conflicts. The US can help with medical assistance, as well as donating money to help the civilians get the help that they need.
ReplyDeleteI feel that America can help Syrians by sending over aid to help all of the impacted civilians. I also hope that the attacks will be targeted solely on the people causing the issues and not civilians.
ReplyDeleteYes I do believe that there will be an increase in attacks which is unfortunate. I think that we needed to condemn Russias bombings just to keep the face up that we don't like each other. I think that sending medical and food aid is the best course for America to take.
ReplyDeleteI think the attacks will increase due to the election. America can only help by letting more people into this country, but with the new president, I don't think that'll be happening.
ReplyDeleteYes I believe there will be an increase of attacks due to having Trump as president. It wouldn't be hypocritical of us by condemning Russia for their blind attacks. America can help Syria by offering medical assistance, donating money ad sending our best doctors to heal them.
ReplyDeleteWith Trump's racist remarks said against almost all races even Syria I think there will definitely be a greater chance of bombings. It shouldn't just be the Syrians in fear, it should be all minority groups in America, racism is finally not being suppressed under the leadership of Donald Trump. If he has the same beliefs as the KKK and the support of a neonazi group then no one is safe. Once again, history is repeating itself.
ReplyDeletei think that with Trump as our newly elected president, Syria will definitely be made more of a target. However, in order to not be hypocritical, America could help Syria by intervening and protecting them from these airstrikes and future ones.
ReplyDeleteI believe that Syria will definitely get some more US firepower, under Trump. America could help their hypocritical case by protecting them from poorly targeted airstrikes like this one.
ReplyDeleteSyria is going to be a major target due to Trump becoming president soon. Many of the people who are in Syria are innocent and Trump is just stereotyping them as part of terrorist organizations. America is going to be more involved now and more attacks are going to be made due to the decisions of Trump.
ReplyDeleteWhen people argue that Trump being elected will "open doors" for russia to increase attacks, it's not based upon any hard evidence other than the fact that many assume he will mosey up to Putin. When Trump says he is open to working with Russia, it's for the best of both nations, russia and ours. Working with russia creates a diplomacy much needed in a time when going cold again can only lead to a much longer proxy war. It is in syria's best interest and our best interest we try to talk with russia and establish relations to reach some agreement.
ReplyDeleteI believe it is very tragic how their is horrible things happening in Syria, but I believe if the US wants to become a stronger nation, we must help ourselves before helping other countries.
ReplyDeleteLet's not intervene and help Syria. Actually, let's just leave the UN. We've been too generous. All we got in turn was more demands. Where's our appreciation? I don't see it anywhere.
ReplyDeleteI think that syria will face some attacks based of the things that rump was saying. I agree on saying that it is hypocritical. I think that we shouldn't intervene unless we think that the problem has escalated
ReplyDeleteI believe that the U.S. nation will become stronger and hopefully not but maybe start increasing attacks on Syria. I think we should just invest time in getting people home and safe.
ReplyDeleteI believe that there would be an increase of attacks in Syria in the new election. It is very hypercritical if we do condemn the bombing even if we were turned our back on Syria. It can help by sending in troops and making it a safer area.
ReplyDeleteI think there would be an increase of attacks with the new elections. Not many people like trump.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe that there will be an increase in airstrikes due to the election. I don't believe they will stop but I don't think that trump will send more.
ReplyDeleteI think considering he hates muslims, there would be an increase in attacks.
ReplyDeleteI believe that there will definitely be an increase in attacks due to his hate towards Muslims. He will lead our country blinded by hate, instead of thinking of how he can benefit our country. He will ultimately lead to more conflict, not only within our country, but within others. He needs to devise a real plan that does not involve death or attacks.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe that there will be an increase in airstrikes on Syria, but don't think he will stop either. I believe it is insane that the US has targeted children hospitals I don't agree with these airstrikes.
ReplyDeleteConsidering our newly elected president, there is a good chance that Syria will be targeted in the future. However, our nation needs to set aside the fact that we had turned away from their country and put our attention on bringing the children and other affected civilians to safety.
ReplyDeleteAmerica can help Syria by protecting them and like Emily said build more hospitals to help safe them
