The Cavs. will visit the White House on November 10, of this year. As Obama's has been the face of the black community within the nation for almost this past decade. The team had a few words regarding their position on that as he steps down:
"He's been a great role model, especially to African-American kids. What he did was something that you never thought could be possible. Being a black president, for me to be there when he's on his way out and his last term is ending, I think that's pretty significant as well." - Lebron James
"Having our first black president was a big thing for me and for my family and I know for a lot of others. "I know having a chance for these guys to see a black president in office is a big thing. It's a big deal. So, that's one of the reasons why I wanted it to be while he was still in office because you never know if it will ever happen again." - Tyronn Lue
Being a fan of basketball himself, Obama is as eager to once again be able to see one of his favorite teams. Giving him the opportunity to congratulate the Cavaliers on their recent win in the NBA Championships.
Questions:
- How do you think Obama stepping down will affect the Black communities?
- As a bay area local, how does it make you feel that our president favors our NBA Chap. rival?
- Do you think that Lebron James is the greatest players within the NBA?
- In the change of presidency, do you think that there will be ever another "goat" that could be live up to Obama term?
I feel Obama has done a lot as the president and inviting his favorite team to the White House illustrates how he is enjoying his final moments in the White House. I feel that Obama's term coming to an end may sadden some Black communities, but the effort and progress he has made will forever leave a lasting impact on their lives.
ReplyDeleteI think black communities won't feel as connected to the new President because they are both white. Hopefully, Obama has made a positive impact on the black community. I don't think Lebron is the best player in the NBA.
ReplyDeleteI think it will affect the black community because Obama has worked s o hard to make everything and everyone equal, and if a president with different views changes this, all the progress Obama made will be lost. It doesn't affect me at all because in the end it's not gonna matter because he is stepping down. I think Lebron James is one of the greatest players to play the game.

ReplyDeleteI think Obama stepping down will not only effect the clack community but also the people who are still in need of ObamaCare. I think the new change will cause many Americans to still remember the progress Obama has made in the community

ReplyDeletethis was a joke do not take it seriously.
DeleteI feel that this will impact the black community greatly. Now that Donald Trump is the president, I feel there will be little to no connection between him and other races besides whites. It's truly heartbreaking.
ReplyDeletethis will be the last connection that the black community will feel with the president because we all know trump. I think it will show how good of a president we had for two terms.
ReplyDeleteObama used to be a "great role-model" for not just "African-American kids" but the whole black community in the US. Now that Trump has been elected president, this racial group, along with other minorities, won't feel like they belong in this nation.
ReplyDeleteI more of a Tristan Thompson kind of guy as the G.O.A.T per se. That guy carried LeChoke the entire playoffs last year with all those triple doubles and rebounds like cmon. I think black communities will get sad because they're lord and savior is gone. I think Kanye West 2020 can live up to Obama's expecations. But right now CNN experts are giving West a 1% chance of winning the election, and I trust mah boi Wolf Blitzer to tell me the facts. So we'll see, but waves don't die and birds can't fly in the cage tm per se xD.
ReplyDeletei think the black community won't feel the need/urgency to vote. I think Obama really did get a lot of the African American community to come together more than ever before. I think it's okay for the President to support our rivals because the Cavs are our national champions, but at the end of the day it doesn't really matter to me. I do think there will be another "GOAT" because this is america and we are the "GOAT"
ReplyDeleteI think that Obama is trying to make the biggest impact he can in the shortest amount of time, given the new path of our country that was created
ReplyDeletetrump has gotten support where it does not make logical sense to me. "Latinos for Trump!" "Women for Trump!" "African Americans for Trump!" "LGTBQ+ for Trump!" "Turkeys for Thanksgiving!" "Trees for Deforestation!"
ReplyDeleteI think that especially after the results of the election this will impact the black communities incredibly. We are already seeing a lot of emotional reactions to the result so when Obama steps down it will definitely sting for a lot of people. The other questions I'm not even going to bother answering aha.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Black communities will have support anymore now that Trump is our president. Still feels weird to say that. If anything Black communities will face a lot of hard times going into the next 4 years. I can't predict the future though, anything could happen.
ReplyDeleteI believe Obama was an icon, being the first black president is not an easy thing to do. He should be eternally regarded as a legend because of how well he was a president with his circumstances. I have no clue what the future holds and what Donald Trump will do to this country, but if he is able to fight against all the negativity the country has for him and do something good for America, then he could definitely be regarded as a great president.
ReplyDeleteI believe that Obama leaving office will now leave the black community on its own in fighting for equality, now they do not have a big figure as their guide. I think that one day there will be another colored President that will top Obama's achievements, but for now he is the ceiling to break through.
ReplyDeleteI think Obama stepping out of the black community will affect the Black communities. There could potential be less relations with the white and black community. Him inviting his favorite basketball team to come over shows that he wants to enjoy his final moments of presidency before it ends.
ReplyDeleteI believe Obama leaving the office would make a huge effect to the African American community because he had a big role as the president. There is no telling how Trump is going to do but we will have to see ourselves.
ReplyDeleteObama stepping down will have a huge affect on the black community. the fact that Obama is linking up with Lebron is shame and is disrespectful... he lost spirit point for sure.
ReplyDeleteI believe that by leaving the presidency, Obama's role in the black community would be turned down a few notches as he no longer will have access to communicating with the entire black community in our nation as easily.
ReplyDeleteI believe that Obama stepping down will greatly affect the black communities for the reason of Trump looking at the black community not as regular people but minorities who he will constantly attack. I believe that each president has something different to offer and there is no way of saying whether or not there will ever be a president as good as Obama for the reason that they all have something different to offer.
ReplyDeleteI think that the change in presidency will not be too much of a problem because America has gone through something similar when Bush became president.
ReplyDeleteI think that by reaching out to different organizations of American culture (sports, arts, etc), President Obama is showing citizens what type of legacy he wants to leave as president. He has made the position of President seem less superior and regal, and more down-to-earth and relatable.
ReplyDeleteI think obama stepping down will have an influence on black communities. Without Obama's support, it is possible that progress will be put on hold or awareness will decrease. Especially with Trump, being elected to serve as our president, I do not see any positive change happening in the future.
ReplyDeleteI do believe that Obama has really made himself a more relatable and down to earth person. Him leaving the white house will impact everyone in some way. Especially with our newly elected president coming in, who knows what the future will hold.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jacob, that President Obama leaving the White House will have an impact on people. I think that the black community will come together as one in order to stay strong against Donald Trump
ReplyDeleteI do believe that Obama stepping down will have an impact on our country as a whole, not just the black community. Trump and Obama being polar opposites will be a change that we have to adjust to and make sure that everything that has been achieved through the year will not be for nothing.
ReplyDeleteObama stepping down will affect the black communities tremendously. They will feel like a their to supported by the new president. I don't think Lebron James is one the best players in the NBA. Eventually there will be another "goat" but it'll be a long wait for that president to come around.
ReplyDeleteI believe that the black communities will be affected a lot after Obama is stepping down. I feel as though a lot of the different races will soon change on how people think of each other after Trumps presidency.
ReplyDeleteI think it's ok that Obama likes our rival, he's from that area, it makes sense. Lebron James is probably the best all around player in the NBA at the moment, but, it is more of an argument determining who is the greatest player of all time. Obama's term is also arguably the "goat" but it is really opinion based.
ReplyDeleteI think the stepping down of Obama will bring a lot of anger in the black communities.
ReplyDeleteI believe that black communities will act out toward the fact their will not be a black president for the next 4-8 years for they may feel that they will not receive the attention they got when a black president was in position.
ReplyDeleteI believe that black communities will act out toward the fact their will not be a black president for the next 4-8 years for they may feel that they will not receive the attention they got when a black president was in position.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jack i feel like some will be offended that he's stepping down because to some it might seem like he does not care about the black community.
ReplyDeleteI agree that it will cause some anger for people when Obama steps down because they may feel that like no one has their back
ReplyDeleteI think there will be a great impact in the black community, but not only the black community. Any community that is not white will be affected and impacted by trump.
ReplyDeleteObama stepping down will negatively impact black communities AND many other minority groups because they will no longer have the same support or connection to their newly elected president.
