Voting Libertarian

Libertarians think People are in control of their own lives and don’t have to sacrifice their values to benefit others. Governments also must not violate individual rights or interfere with contractual relations between people. Officials are saying there is a large amount of people considering voting for Johnson which is known to be unusual for him. Libertarians tend to be in the middle of conservative and liberal depending on the case. Right now 32% of voters have considered voting Libertarian which is Gary Johnson right now. His support nationally now is around 10% and if he gets at least 15% more he will be able to get into the debates.

1: What do you think of Libertarians?
2: Would you be one to vote for Johnson?
3:Do you think Johnson will make it into the debates.

  1. I believe with the strong unpopularity of both main candidates Clinton, and Trump, Gary Johnson could get the 15% that he needs to get into the debates.

  2. I think the libertarians are unique because they don't always want to be under control of the government. They strictly want individual freedom.

  3. I think the Libertarian Party is an interesting in-between party. It's kind of socially liberal but economically/politically conservative. In this rapidly progressive world, I think the Libertarian party has the ability to grow a lot in the future. Right now, though, I doubt that Johnson will make his 15%. Most people are aware that a third party vote at this time could be very risky, and therefore and choosing to stick to Trump v. Clinton. I'll be interested to see how the Libertarian party grows over the next few years though, maybe one day we'll see a 3rd party candidate get on the national debate stage.

  4. While voting Libertarian seems like a good alternative opposed to voting for Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton, I don't believe that we know enough about Johnson or his ideas to decide whether or not we really prefer him over Trump and Clinton. I think the fact that he has around 10% of the national vote is pretty impressive, but I don't think he'll be able to gain 15% more in order to get into the debates.

  5. I think libertarian's are also unique because they don't want to be under control by the government and they won't sacrifice their values for other people.

  6. I believe that this would be an amazing thing especially for this election. The introduction of a third party candidate in this election would be amazing for the country giving more options and choice for the people to get the leaders they want in this country.

  7. Although Johnson does sound like a better candidate than Trump or Clinton, I'm not sure if the public really knows what they are voting for. For a nominee to go from almost unheard of to 32%, it is quite suspicious. It would seem that he'd make a better candidate, but the public doesn't really know who he is and what his ideas are.

  8. I believe that voting for the libertarian candidate is just the same as voting for Donald Trump. Both candidates are of different political parties than President Obama, so I highly anticipate a change in every policy of the U.S. if either candidates are elected president. Personally, I believe that the democratic party had served the country well for 8 years; therefore, I would entrust the same political party by not voting for the libertarian candidate.

    1. Actually, I would think that a vote for Johnson was a vote for Clinton rather than a vote for Trump. I think most people who are voting Libertarian are once-Republicans who are turned off by Trump's policies or political incorrectness or the other numerous unattractive qualities of Trump as a candidate. There may be some democrats turned off by Hillary and turning to Johnson, but I feel like most democrats voting for a 3rd party are voting for Stein. Therefore, most of the Johnson supporters are taking votes from Trump, and "giving" them to Clinton.

  11. Despite the fact that Hillary and Trump are unpopular, Johnson will not be able to harness enough of the vote to win; he is simply taking votes away from the Democratic and Republican parties.

  12. In my opinion Libertarians are very unique on their beliefs on things and I like what they believe, but at the same time they have somethings in their beliefs on things that make me disagree with them. Overall I think I would not vote for Johnson, but I think he would at least make it to the debates so yeah I believe he will based off the way he is.

  13. I think that Libertarian policies provide an interesting opportunity for America to make a change in the positive direction, but I think that right now people are too nervous about switching parties to not vote for more familiar faces.

  14. I think that the Libertarian group is interesting and has their own beliefs that could be popular but many people do not know about the Libertarians and if they do may be afraid to vote for them because voting for a third party may be risky and sticking to Hillary vs. Trump would be better instead of giving votes away. Though because the two main candidates are so unpopular Johnson may have a chance at least to make the 15% and get into the debates, still it is doubtful that he will get much further past this.

  15. I don't think that the Libertarian Party polling better displays the virtue of Johnson or the shortcomings of the current candidates. I think that it actually displays the flaws with a 2 party system. By having 2 major parties that are barely regulated (because they make the laws), corruption runs rampant and there is very little accountability.

  17. Libertarians have a unique set of beliefs. I believe it could work in many ways. However, considering the fact that Americans think democrat and republican are the only way to go, we will never elect a libertarian. Johnson can get in the debates, but he definitely will not be our next president. It was a good run for him, but ultimately we'll be electing democrat and republicans for a much longer time.

  18. I support many Libertarian ideas but I cannot say I am in full support of the party. I feel the Libertarian party as a whole is slowly gaining more support, so in the future their candidate may be part of the debates.

  20. I would say that I am a supporter of Liberal beliefs, however I am not in full support. I think that due to the current issues in today's society, the libertarian party is gaining more support. Due to this, I do believe that Johnson will make it to the debates.

  21. I think he is a fantastic candidate. Especially since so many people are against both Trump and Hillary, he is the perfect alternative. It is just the special circumstance of the election that he is gaining voters. Usually, I don't think he would gain this much momentum.

  23. I agree with Caitlyn on being a supporter of the Liberal beliefs, but i do not agree with all of their ideals. I do not believe i would be one to vote for Johnson because i personally believe that there are better candidates. I do believe he will make it into the debates because i know people that think the same as him.

  24. I would totally vote for Gary Johnson, simply because this Hillary and Trump thing is getting too crazy and immature. I agree with liberal beliefs, but some of their ideals and plans for the future are not ok with me.

  25. I think that libertarians are more distinctive based from their beliefs. I would vote for Johnson because people will see him as a better candidate rather than Hillary or Trump. I think he would make it to the debates if his ideas and choices.

  26. I personally like most the ideals of the Libertarian party, but with any party that anyone supports I do not agree with all the ideals the party stands for. In this election, if I was voting, I would consider a vote for the Libertarians. Most may say this is a vote being thrown away, but if you believe in the ideals of that candidate, why vote for anyone else? It's a possibility he may get into the presidential election debates, with 15%, but I believe it is highly unlikely with him polling at 9% and the debates being a month away from tomorrow. I would like to see a third party candidate debating in the future.

  27. I think Libertarians provide an interesting perspective and they have very valid view. Personally I would not vote for Johnson, but he a very serious option. I really hope he does make it to the debates.

  28. I agree with da juice because Libertarians have an interesting perspective. But I would vote Johnson because people would consider him instead of the other candidates.

  30. I think that libertarians do have some good ideas, but there are some that I do not agree with. The government does need to have some control, but for the most part the people should be free.

  32. I like the what the Libertarian party has to offer, but I don't agree with all of their beliefs. They may be a good option for this year's election, as this year's republican and democratic candidates are not the best. I honestly don't think that Johnson will make it into the debates. He still has to gain a large amount of votes before the debates, which are coming up very soon

  33. I strongly believe that in the fact that libertarians have a very unique belief in the sense that they think the destiny of the people lies in their own hands. With the current election of 2016 I would not vote for libertarians due to the simplicity that rules must be followed in order to keep peace because the people can be corrupt in some cases which is where the court system comes in to play under the control of the governed.

  34. I think libertarians are cool because they don't strongly believe that the government should have all the power. I would vote for Johnson because I believe people have the right to their rights granted in the Bill of Rights. I don't think Johnson will make it into the debates.
