Beijing 'seriously concerned' after Trump questions 'one China' policy

After the most recent presidential election, China is "seriously concerned" after Donald Trump questioned whether the United States should keep its long-standing position that Taiwan is part of "one China." China has responded saying that co- operation with the United States is out of question. China believes that unless Trump adheres to the one- China policy, it will spark a real crisis between the countries. The article continued by claiming that Trump is "ignorant as a child" in foreign policy. This editorial spoke about how Trump did not understand that the one- China policy bought or sold because he only understand business and believes that everything has a price. Earlier this month, Trump slammed China on twitter criticizing their currency policy and military posturing.

1. Do you agree with China's decision to make cooperation with the US out of question?
2. Why do you think Trump was called "ignorant as a child"
3. Is Trump harming his presidency with these actions?

  1. Trump proved he is ignorant from the way he discuss issues and his opinions never make sense to anybody .he needs to learn how to make himself clear and positive when discussing any issues .

  2. Good job Trump for respecting Taiwan's independence. Taiwan is a separate, democratic country that is not a part of China. We should support Trump because he is trying to stop the spread of communism.

  3. Yes, I agree with China's refusal to cooperate with the US and that Trump is as "ignorant as a child." As if he hasn't harmed his presidency enough, attempting to slam China on social media is just immature, so I definitely understand why China wouldn't want to work with the US.

  4. Trump does see Taiwan as a independent country than being related to china. While that may seem like a good thing, it threatens the thought on china now sees the US

  5. I believe that Trump is described as "ignorant as a child" regarding foreign policy because he has no desire of keeping a presidential reputation not only in the U.S., but also throughout the world. Because of this, world leaders have no respect for him and won't associate with America, making foreign trade and negotiation impossible.

  6. I agree with josh because Trump does see Trump as an independent country. Rather than being associated with China.

  7. I think he is described as "ignorant as a child" b/c he really doe snot know what is going on outside our country, and even in it! He only knows business and nothing more. This could lead to a major conflict between us and China.

  11. I do not agree with their decision because our economy depends on them. I believe he was called that because he is. Him being president is hurting his presidency.

  12. I believe that Trump was called ignorant because he does a lot of childish things and he loves to make fun of many groups and make comments on tweeter. Trump is very childish in the comments he makes and in the way he tries to confront situations.
