President-elect Donald Trump dismisses Green Party recall effort as a ‘scam’

article

Former Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein has called for a recount in voted in a few states, including Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Trump has tweeted about this saying that it is a scam and that Jill Stein is only doing this to get money. She recently dropped her recount suit in Pennsylvania and she's loosing votes in the Wisconsin recount. After Trump tweeted about dropping the recount, Jill Stein changed her mind and said she was still going through with it. However, I do not think a recount would do anything to change the results of this election. She then stated that she would escalate her efforts and file a federal lawsuit in Pennsylvania to get the recount. Trump also believes that the only reason he lost the popular vote was because thousands of people voted illegally.

1. Do you think there should be recounts in some states?

2. If some states do get recounts, do you think it can change the results of the election?

3. Do you think Jill Stein is just doing this to get money?

  1. I think that it will not change the outcome of the election only because is was not close in the states that would be included in the recount

  2. i don't think it will change the outcome because the election is over. She could be, especially, if she's losing, this could be a sign that she could be running out of money to support her campaign.

  3. I do not believe that there should be a recount in some states because the election is over and it is what it is. We should just get over it and move on with it. I do not believe that the recounts will change the results of the election. I don't know how she would get money out of this.

  4. I personally do not think a recount will make a difference. The election is over and it is time for people to accept the results. I understand people cannot stop crying, but at this point they need to. We just need to wait and see what will happen. Clinton herself said that we must accept the results of an election, but clearly nobody is able to follow the words said by someone they supported.

  5. I personally don't believe a recount will make much of a difference. People voted what they wanted before, and will vote the same now most likely

  6. Because of the above opinions saying that the recount won't make a difference, Jill Stein is probably doing this for another reason. I don't know if she's "in it for the money" as Trump suggests, though.

  7. I agree with all of the above, the election happened already. The results are very clear and nothing will make a difference.

  9. I do not think that recounts are necessary. The election is over and has been over for weeks now. People should just accept the fact that Trump won.

  10. A recount would only be interesting when the results came out differently because then there would be a national outcry. We should have more rallies!

  11. I think a recount would have no effect on the election. Like I have said before, we have not even given Trump a chance to be President. Yes, I don't think some of his policies are great, but since we have already voted for him, we should see what he can do. If it it is clearly unjust that is when we should protest.

  12. I think that there should be a recount because of the deficit Trump has in the popular vote. I think it is worth it because this is the largest difference it has ever been.

  13. There should not be recounts in some states because I believe it will have no effect on the outcome of the election. From this point, we must accept the results of the election and continue on.

  14. I agree with everyone in that a recount would not fix anything and would simply be a waist of time.

  15. I do not think that there should recount in some of the states because nothing can be done to chance the outcome. It will not change the election results and we just have to go with what is going on.

  16. I think if a candidate wants a recount they should be entitled to one. However, even if there were more votes for Jill Stein, there is no way she would win anyways. A recount can give you more votes, but it won't give you the presidency.

  17. I think a recount should be allowed, but I don't believe it will change the outcome of the election. Stein may want the recount to simply gain recognition and awareness.

  18. The recount is stupid and is a waste of time and money, people just have to accept the fact that Trump already won. The results will not change which makes the recount again, a waste of time.

  19. the recount is not very effective so it doesn't really matter. If some states did get recount's it would still not affect you who would become president.

  20. I think the recount should be allowed. However, the election would not have change. I think it would just not affect who would become president

  21. I don't believe that the recount will change anything for the election. Although it may satisfy others, it ultimately will be a waste of time for our country.

  22. In my opinion, a recount will not change the out come of the election itself. It would be a complete waste of money and time for states to do this. People need to accept the fact that he is our new president and stop trying to find loopholes that could change the results of the election. It's not going to happen so everyone may as well live on with their lives instead of sulking in the past.

  23. I think Jill Stein is doing this just to stir things up, which is very good in my opinion. Even though it will most likely not change the results of the election but it was a good idea to lift the hearts of Americans and actually show all the disagreement with Trump throughout the nation.

  24. I don't think a recount will change the outcome of the election. I think Jill Stein wants a recount because she wants to do anything to keep Trump out of office.

  25. I don't think there should be a recount, also don't think the votes will change that much so it is pointless. I don't know what there doing.

  26. I do not believe that there should be a recount because I don't think the change will be that significant. It is not the first time that a president has won the presidency just through the electoral college and not the popular vote, this is not super super uncommon thing. The state of California is the most populated state and it is widely liberal, so I believe that a lot of Hilary's popular vote is because the states that vote for her are more populated.

  27. A recount would have no effect on the outcome of the election. Donald Trump won in the electoral college by a large margin, and a recount would not change the fact that he won by a substantial amount

  28. I don't believe there needs to be a recount since nothing will change from the recount. Trump is our next president and there is nothing we can do to change that. At this point if there was a recount there maybe a little change to Clinton electoral college vote but not even close to overtake Trump for his presidency. I do believe that Jill Stein is doing this for the money but also for the publicity and ll the TV time she is receiving right now for the reason of recounting the votes.

  29. I don't think a recount would help with anything. Plus, if there were a lot of people who voted illegally, the probably voted for Hillary Clinton, so if there was a recount, Trump would win anyway.

  30. I do not believe that the recount will change much. However, I understand why they are continuing to do it; no one can know for sure that the recount won't change anything, and in the chance that it does (very slim) it would be worth it. At this point, people are just trying to do anything to keep Trump out of office.

  31. I do not believe that a recount in some states should be done, for I do not believe that it will change the outcome of the election. I believe that we should accept that Trump is going to be our president and make the best possible situation out of this.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I do not think there should be a recount because I do not think it will change the fact that Trump is elected. Trump has won and the election has been over for weeks now and there is not much that anyone can do now.

  33. So I believe that a lot of Hilary's popular vote is because the states that vote for her are more populated. Clinton herself said that we must accept the results of an election, but clearly nobody is able to follow the words said by someone they supported.

  34. I believe that the recount won't really change anything and if so the result is still that Trump won, it was all just a waste of money. Clinton is being mature by saying that it is what it is of whoever wins the recount and she is doing great in not investing money for the recount.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I think a recount is a poor usage of time and money. We need to accept the fact that the nation allowed this man to be president, they did not vote seriously and now face the backlash. I do not think the results will change at all and I don't think she will win the case

    ReplyDelete
  36. I think that a recount would be pointless. There have been instances in the past where candidates won the election through only the electoral college. I there was a recount as Jill Stein wants, all it would do is waste time.

    ReplyDelete
  37. A recount is a waste of time and money since Trump already won and we should start to accept that Trump is now president.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Not going to change; it was not THAT close of an election. And as far as I'm aware, Trump's claims are completely unfounded. I have no idea why anyone is bothering with all this, it just seems like we're wasting our time and energy

  39. Recount is just a waste of time. Hillary popular count couldnt save her during the election.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I believe that if they were to do a recount on states then it would not be enough change anything.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Although Hilary Clinton received the popular vote, there should not be a recount because it will not change the outcome of the election. We simply need to carry on despite the results of the election.
