Hillary Clinton Is Set Back by Decision to Keep Illness Secret

At the 9/11 memorial Hillary Clinton stumbled while trying to get into her car. Hillary was diagnosis with pneumonia on Friday and she did not tell anyone about it because she thought “I just didn’t think it was going to be that big a deal,” On Monday Hillary's campaign worked hard to reassure her supporters that she will be fine and that she will be alright for the upcoming election. From her not informing her supporters or any voters who where watching at that time that she had a possibly deadly illness could affect the numbers of supporters she may receive.

1. Would you want to know if one of your candidates for president has a deadly illness?
2. Would this affect your vote if they tried to keep their illness a secret?
3. Some people are asking if she is hiding anything else about her health do you think she is ?

  1. I would like to know about a candidate's illness, but past presidents have kept their illnesses a secret, so I don't think it's a huge deal. I think for the most part if it's something they can handle, then there's no reason to make a big deal about it, and in my opinion the only reason this is blowing up right now is because the Republicans are just in massive mud-slinging mode. You'd be surprised to see just how fickle American voters are. Something as trivial as this has Clinton down 1% in the polls. I'm still supportive of Clinton, and I would continue to be supportive of future candidates if this situation ever occurred again. The reason being that when I say that I support a candidate, I am supporting their goals, policy, and ideas for our country's future, not necessarily the person themselves. It's probably true that Clinton is keeping secrets from the public, what person doesn't? But, I must admit that I do think it would be beneficial for her to be a little more transparent.

  3. I would definitely want to know if a presidential candidate has a deadly illness, and it could potentially affect my vote. In this particular election I would not change my vote though. I don't think Clinton has a deadly illness, and I would not randomly change my vote based on a minor sickness.

  4. Yes I would want to know if my presidential candidate had a deadly illness. If they tried to keep their illness a secret I think that is suspicious, just because its illness and there is nothing to hide. Everyone gets sick. I don't think she is hiding anything else, but even if she was if it has no effect on the people, I feel she has the right to keep her personal health to herself.

  5. I would very much want to be informed if a presidential candidate were ill, being if they were elected president and in a bad scenario, they would be limited in their duties of president or even die.

  6. It is important to know if our president does have an illness. I was never going to vote for her anyways so it doesn't affect my vote. She tends to hide specific things so maybe there is more about her health we don't know.

  7. I think that if it is a potentially deadly illness I want to know about it. I think if Hillary is going to lie about a potentially life threatening illness then what else is she willing to lie about?

  8. I would want to know if one of the candidates has a deadly illness. It would affect my vote if they tried to keep the illness a secret because it seems a bit superstitious. I think that she is hiding more about her health.

  9. I feel if shes already kept secrets form Americans about her health, she could have much more to be hidden. This can include her health or even more emails she doesn't want revealed.

  10. Yes, i would want to know if a presidential candidate has a serious illness or not and this will affect my vote if they try to keep is a secret. I think she is hiding something else about her health. Everyone gets some kind of health issue at her age so I would not be surprised if she has something even worse.

  11. I wouldn't really feel like I would need to know if one of my candidates was ill, if it was cancer or something then most definitely. If you just assume from her past then everyone would probably say she is hiding something, but I think it was a immature thing that she learned was terribly wrong and not to do again.

  12. Yes, I would want to know. If a candidate was to keep his/ her illness a secret that would affect my vote because that goes to their lack of credibility and transparency. She may be hiding other health issues, but so is Trump. Therefore, because both of our candidates are untruthful about issues, we are in a difficult predicament to choose between better of the worse.

  13. Yes, I would want to know if she has an illness. It would affect my vote because then her running mate would be put more into the spotlight because of how her illness may affect her. She possibly is hiding information about her health because it can have a detrimental effect on her votes.

  14. I would definitely want to know what health issues my candidate has. If he or she's health issue is serious then I will likely change my vote. The President has a very high stress job and it would simply be impractical, or make no sense in this case if we were to give this job to someone who is physically and mentally incapable of handling the stress and work.

  15. I would rather know all I can about a presidential candidate. Especially on the scale in which they're running. I say it would not effect my vote personally, but i see this having a large shift in poles. I think she may be hiding some minor things regarding her health.

  16. I would definitely want to know if a presidential candidate has a deadly illness because this could affect my vote. I would want a president who can focus on their duties without having to risk their health to do so.

  17. I agree with everyone that you want to know a lot about the presidential candidates, even health issues.
