Hillary Clinton's Doctor Says Pneumonia Led to Abrupt Exit From 9/11 Event

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/09/12/us/politics/hillary-clinton-campaign-pneumonia.html?ref=politics&_r=0

Hillary Clinton is being treated for pneumonia and dehydration, her doctor said on Sunday, hours after she abruptly left a ceremony in New York honoring the 15th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks and had to be helped into a van by Secret Service agents. The incident, which occurred after months of questions about her health from her Republican opponent, Donald J. Trump, and his campaign, is likely to increase pressure on Mrs. Clinton to address the issue and release detailed medical records, which she has so far declined to do.

1.) Would you want our President with an illness that is unpredictable?
2.) Should she really consider getting full medical attention?
3.) Do you think she would lose more votes due to the illness?

  1. No I would not. Yes because what if it is serious. I don't think so maybe it will help her votes.

  2. I believe with the duties that come with the job of being president, you should be healthy enough to be able to complete those tasks in order to fulfill the roles as president.

  4. I think Hillary Clinton is human. She gets sick, and I think she should release her medical records just so Donald doesn't have anything against her. I think if it is something more terminal it could hurt her campaign, but if it isn't I think people shouldn't take this into consideration when casting their vote.

  6. I dont think it matters if our next president is healthy or unhealthy, at the end of the day they're still a person. I think she should get medical attention because it potentially harm her more, and I dont think she would lose votes due to the illness.

  7. Although she is a normal human being that gets sick, her supporters at least should know about her illnesses. If she hides major problems like health, she can't be a reliable president. If she were to become President, the US should know about her health risks in case she can't stay in office. Our country deserves to know what is happening with our President's health b/c we want a strong leader.

  9. An illness shouldn't matter on a person's capabilities of being a President. Rather, I think if the person was sick they would work harder because with the short or unpredictable time they have as President, they would want to work harder to make sure they get their job done to make a difference.

  10. I think we need a physically and mentally healthy president. While we do have a vice-president to take over if anything were to happen to the president, it is still best to have the president stay in office. Yes, everybody gets sick, but if a possible future president has health issues, I believe that it should be taken into consideration for our future.

  11. I think this just makes Clinton's running mate that much more important. I don't think it makes that much of a different if she becomes president, but it does hurt her campaign as it may make her look weak.

  12. I believe that an illness will only motivate you to work harder. Also the fact that trump is 70 he is more likely to get sick bc of his old age so I dont really think that Hillary campaign should be effected

  13. I do not think it is a good decision to have a president who is ill because it puts the country at risk of having a weak leader. I definitely think Clinton should get full medical attention because it is necessary for her health. Clinton will most likely loose votes due to this incident because america will believe she is not healthy enough to run our country

  14. Its a bad idea to have a sick president. She should consider full medical attention and I do not think her illness would cause much of a loss in votes.

  15. Having an illness does not mean that she is not a good president, but i do feel like that if she wants to be the best president that she can be, she will have to get better health wise so she should seek medical attention. Her illness may also cause her to have less votes because people do not want an sick president.

  16. I think that an illness does not change her capability of being a president but I believe that it is a factor to keep in mind while voting because who ever you choose to vote for you are hoping for that person to remain in office for the full term.

  17. Only for having an illness doesn't mean she cant run for president, she still can just was sick for a while. I think she should consider getting full medical attention just so she can be healthy and continue with her daily life. Well she might lose voters because people will think she is unsuited and weak to become president.

  18. I do not think it is a good idea to have someone who is ill running as president. She has not stated exactly what her illness was to the public. She might lose voters because many people want a strong president with good health.

  19. I don't think a person who is seriously ill should be the President because there health might get in the way of them doing their job as President. I think Hilary Clinton can lose votes if she is seriously ill ,but I don't believe she will lose votes for having pneumonia.

  20. In my own opinion I think she should get full medical attention because if she did not and had become president, it would not matter because she would be too ill to do her duties and may pass on very shortly after she becomes president. I think the votes should not change for her because if they are really going for her they would support her not put her down by not voting

  21. Hillary did this on purpose we all know bill clinton did 9/11 its all a set up. She probably will lose votes cause of this because no one wants a sick president in office and she should probably worry about other things than getting better.

  22. I agree with Fifita because Hilary should get full medical attention to solve this issue, if she does not then he illnesses might become an issue in he decision making if she becomes president. I also believe that he votes will not change because people would vote for her because of he ideals and not her health at the time.

  23. No I do not want a ill person to become the president. Yes, she should get more medical attention. Your hrlth should always be the higest priority. I think she will lose votes due to her illness.

  24. People get sick. Hillary Clinton is a person. I'm sure every president who has been in office has gotten sick. So whether or not a person is sick or not doesn't really matter to me. I wish them well but them getting sick isn't going to sway me from liking a person to not like a person, or vice versa. I think everyone should always get medical attention so yes. No I don't think that she will lose any votes.

  27. I don't think that most people would want a president with an illness but anything is better than Donald Trump so ...

  28. If Clinton's illness is super serious, she should not become president because she will not have the energy to be able to run the country, and the stress from the position will affect her health.

    ReplyDelete
  29. After this incident I believe that Clinton will have some of her supporters doubt if she really is capable of being president. Having a president with serious issues won't be the best idea because there can be consequences that affect the country.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I agree that if a candidate is not physically well, it would not be beneficial to the country to have that person as a president. If an unpredictable illness like this were to occur while she was in office, this would leave her unable to take care of her role as President. I believe she should consider getting full medical attention because her illness may put her at risk, and if she is elected, her decisions at risk. I believe that this may cause her to lose votes because people will start to question her physical capabilities, and therefore her ability to run the country. A president with medical issues wouldn't be able to work as much as she needs to with the demands of the country.

  31. I agree with Noah, I don't believe that people should be freaking out over her illness. She has pneumonia, which is curable thanks to our modern day medicine. People need to stop freaking out about someone getting sick and thinking it will affect their votes or even their presidency long term.

    ReplyDelete
  32. No i do not believe she will lose votes due to illness. I believe she will lose votes due to deception associated to her illness. People get sick and that's a fact and they also get better. we had presidents in the office that were in poor health and yet it never stopped them in executing demands of the office. People like Kennedy and Roosevelt are remembered for what they did for America and not for there illnesses.

  33. I believe if anyone is feeling ill and has suspicion that it could be bad they should seek medical attention. No I don't think Hilary will lose votes because she is sick.

  35. I don't think anybody would want a president that has an unpredictable illness. Pneumonia is not a disease; it is only an infection and can be treated. Also, having an illness could affect the votes that she receives but it is all subjective to how the voters perceive the threat of her pneumonia. I don't think that someone would vote for the other party that has different ideas simply because Clinton has suffered from pneumonia recently.

  37. I agree with Lynn in that i don't believe that anyone would want a president that has an unpredictable illness. Pneumonia is just an illness that can be treated. Therefore, it seems ridiculous that someone would change there vote because she came down with an infection. However, it is very possible because people will believe anything they hear.

  38. It is unfortunate that Clinton has pneumonia. Because she has an illness, it means that her health is slowly deteriorating, common with aging. Since this illness is easily treatable, I have no worries about her road to presidency. Public sympathy will not play a role in her election because since Clinton is already so old, the public is already definitely concerned with her capability to lead. She could lose a few votes here and there, but I think that the majority of the public is already aware of the factors that come with age.

  39. i wouldn't want a president who has an unpredictable illness because if there was an important event and the president got sick, i wouldn't wan the country to get into diplomatic issues. Yes she should consider getting a full medical attention from a doctor. I don't think it would cause her to lose votes because it is not her fault that she got sick

  40. I wouldn't want to have a long term president with an unpredictable illness because if there is a big event that is important for the world, the other countries might come to an agreement without the US. I think she should because pneumonia is very easily treatable. I think people would be worried but I don't believe she would lose votes.

  42. I believe that Hillary would not loose votes because any person could come out with an unpredictable illness not just her. I also believe that she will have to take good care of herself and treat her pneumonia , so that she does a good job as a president if she wins.

  44. Like previous people have said Hillary Clinton is huaman will she will get sick. I believe that as long as she is able to perform her duties there is no reason she should not be able to become president. In addition to this, yes, she should definitely consider getting a full medical attention. Not only would it make her voters feel more secure, but it is for her health too. I think the reason for her losing voters would not be because of her illness, but being secretive about it would cause her to the trust of voters. Therefore if she does have a medical issue, she should make it known to the public.

  45. I don't think health should affect voters at all, and it shouldn't change the mindset of the voters. Although we should worry, it shouldn't be a huge issue. She should consider getting medical attention, but if she surely knows what her sickness is, then she shouldn't. However, to be safe and make voters feel safe, she should get medical attention. Health should not affect her duties as president, so I don't think her health would affect the number of voters.

    ReplyDelete
  46. In my opinion I think that her votes shouldn't be affected due to her health, it isn't anything that dramatic but in all honesty it is something serious that she should take care of and not let get worse. The only thing that matters is her performance throughout all this.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I believe that she should think about her health first. If it is a sickness that can be cured, she should stay in the running for President, but if it jeopardizes her life, she should focus on her health and safety.

  48. I believe that having bad health shouldn't affect her losing any votes. However, I feel like her health is very important and should take care of that.

  50. I don't really think it matters if she has an illness. That doesnt mean she cant do her job. BUT, i do think that if she considered full on medical attention, her job can be kind of hard to do. I dont think she will lose votes because shes sick. It has nothing to do with anything.

  53. you can't really control your illness and shouldn't stop her but the big question is what is more important her health or being the next president . she should pay better attention to her health and that matters the most.

  54. I think that people are freaking out over nothing, pneumonia is a treatable sickness. I believe the people whom were scared or concerned and trying to make a big deal over it are people who are supporting her opponents.

  55. I do not think our president should be ill and if she is ill we should be ready for anything to happen. I strongly believe that the people that are scared are the supporters.

  57. Having a president who is ill does not discredit his or her potential as a leader. Clinton should prioritize her health and get the medical attention she needs -even if it risks losing votes. Her supporters should not be greatly affected by this illness because it doesn't change where she stands on pressing issues.
