Clinton and Trump Head to Head in Ohio

Image result for Trump and Clinton head to head

A new poll in Monmouth University shows that Clinton is only two percent behind Trump. This surprised people because they believed that Clinton would have been ahead due to her win in the opening GOP debate of 2016. But Trump had 44% of the votes while Clinton had 42 percent in the poll, and the other options got the other 6 percent. But over all it was practically neck and neck as we reach closer and closer to election. This is interesting to me because of how close the voting was. Also Trump was estimated to win the state of Ohio and no president since 1964 has not won that state when elected president.

Discussion Questions:

  1. Do you believe that trump will win the state of Ohio?
2.How does this effect the way you see the presidential race?

      3. Why do you think people still lean towards Trump even though Hillary won the debate?

  1. Trump will most likely win Ohio. People lean towards Trump because Hilary is a liar and should probably serve time in Jail.

  2. I think that based on the evidence Trump will most likely win Ohio but it is never set in stone due to it being so close between the two canidates.

  3. I believe that Trump will win the state of Ohio. It still doesn't really affect how I see the race because I'm so disappointed with the choices we have right now nothing much will change it. In terms of the debate, deciding who won and lost is subjective. I think that the debate did little to sway people from one view to another. The only thing that the debate did was reinforce either candidates views.

  4. I believe that trump will win Ohio. This news does not change the way I view the race because it does not change the past acts and facts about the candidates. I think more people will lean towards Clinton after she won the debate

  5. I do believe that Trump will win the state of Ohio. I do not believe it effects the way i see the presidential debate in any way. I believe that people are leaning more towards Trump because they want what he is saying.

  6. According to the latest 538 poll, Clinton has a 56.5% chance of winning Ohio and Trump has a 43.5% chance. Now every poll has variation and margin of error, so I would leave Ohio in the battleground column. Meaning in the last month of the election both candidates will compete fiercely for Ohio's electoral votes.

  7. I believe that winning the state of Ohio will be very close but at the end of the day I do think that Trump will win Ohio. Winning or losing the State of Ohio will not change my view on the presidential race because seeing who are candidates are isn't very good. I believe both Clinton and Trump are not very good and it will show in the future of our country. I believe that people will still lean towards Trump even though Clinton won the debate because Hilary has been lying to much about her health which makes people question and worry and start leaning towards the side of Trump.

  8. I believe that Clinton still has a chance to win Ohio because there still is another presidential debate and maybe that debate can change people's minds. Many people would not want to won't and won't vote because Clinton is a woman and that affects a lot and due to that she has gotten really far and has made history.

  9. I believe that it is possible that Trump will win, but I think I will get a better idea of which candidate might lead the election in Ohio after the second presidential debate. This doesn't really change my view on the presidential race because this is only from one state, and I feel like I would need to get the numbers from multiple other states in order to get a better idea of the presidential race. I think people lean toward Trump because he is very entertaining and because Republicans are most likely not going to vote for Democrats, and Hilary Clinton's past has proven that she cannot be trusted. And, most importantly, the US might not be ready to have a female president.

  10. I believe that some people are voting for Trump only because they refuse to vote a woman for president which I think is really wrong because your vote shouldn't be based off of somebody's gender

  11. I think that it's possible for Trump to win. With all the idiotic and unprofessional things he's said before, he still has a huge amount of supporters who refuse to accept that his ideas and comments are racist and rude. However, I think Clinton has a chance to also win. She's proven during the debates that she has plans to help make America better

  12. I dont think Donald is going to win the state of Ohio because the media is a doing a good job at digging up old scandals and making him look bad in general. At this point the only people that still stand by Trumps side are right wing extremists.

  13. This affects the way I see the presidential debate because I used to believe that Trump would eventually fall behind Clinton especially with her winning the debate. However, it has become clear to me that this election will be very hard to determine who will be the next president before the election. These two candidates keep trading blows and their numbers keep fluctuating making it very difficult to see either one beating out the other in the election.

  15. According to the evidence displayed, Trump is more likely to win Ohio compared to Hilary. Even though Clinton won the debate, it was only one victory out of many battles she has to face while dealing with Trump.

  17. I do believe that people lean more towards because he is very focused on the economic state of the US which people feel is a major issue we have. Also, people, especially Americans, are afraid of change. With Clinton potentially becoming the first woman president is a scary idea for a lot of people.

  18. I think it is possible that he could win Ohio. I think the race is pretty unpredictable. Usually we could tell who is in the lead and who can win but in this case, its pretty difficult.

  20. I believe that Trump could win and it's possible and that some people may vote for him more because they do not want Hillary to be president simply because she is a woman.

  21. he has a chance at winning Ohio, but i believe clinton will win the election. Because he is trying to focus on the US economy, while doing other things that most the US wants.

  22. I think that in this case anything is possible. As we have been shown anything can happen in the political world and no one at this point knows what will happen for sure in the future. Yes their are statistics showing the possibilities of who will win certain states and debates. But in the end, anything can happen and we need to be on the lookout for any new information that comes out.

  23. Trump has a chance of winning Ohio, but Clinton can catch up if its only 2%. This affects the way i see the presidential race because it unpredictable, and it'll be hard to determine who will be the winner due to the poll numbers. People lean towards Trump because they don't want a woman running their country or are just plain racist and want all the immigrants to leave.

  24. Most of Trump's stubbornly loyal supporters are extremely steadfast despite every controversial thing the man does (or has done, as the case may be),because they believe in a president that is unconventional and will actually change things in the White House. Of course, this means that they're voting for someone who has no political experience, and is therefore unqualified to run for office.

  26. Although he has a chance to win Ohio, I believe that ultimately, Clinton will win the election. Due to the leaking of the video of Trumps "locker room banter", it will decrease the amount of supporters he has. He will still try to come out on top, but Clinton has a much better chance at doing so.

  27. I believe Clinton will win election because she is more respectful towards others and is more careful about her choice of words then trump.

  29. Americans continue to believe Trump is the one to be elected as president, being he is more qualified than Hillary is. Even though he may have lost the first presidential debate, there are more to come to show the US how Trump is the better candidate than Hillary.
