US election: Trump 'fool' and Clinton 'weak', say VPs

Image result for trump

On Monday, Trump was speaking in Herndon, Virginia and says "When you talk about the mental health problems, when people come back from war and combat, and they see things that maybe a lot of the folks in this room have seen many times over – and you're strong and you can handle it – but a lot of people can't handle it” (Trump).  Foxnews.com along with Retired Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn, say that the media is taking Trump's words out of context.  They are saying that Trump is not calling those veterans who deal with PTSD not strong and they "can't handle" the stress of war.  Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn also states that the media is propaganda for Hillary Clinton and are "deceiving voters and veterans."

Do you think that the media is taking Trump's words out of context?

Do you think Trump has the qualifications to make that sort of judgment about veterans?

Do you think the media is attempting to take voters away from Trump in order to help Hillary win in November?

  1. I think he said something similar to that ,but they did not write what he said word for word. I don't think he has the right qualifications to judge veterans because I doubt he was ever in a war and has the experiences this people had that did go through the war. I don't think they are trying to help Hillary ,but just twist Trump's words around that is what the media usually does.

  2. I wouldn't be surprised if the media changed his words, but if he did say something close to that then I think that he is not qualified to have a say, since he's never served in the army.

  3. Trump often doesn't think before he speaks. He has no right to make such assumptions or judgments about veterans. Although the media has an inclination towards being liberal, Trump should be more considerate and respectful before he speaks of our country's veterans.

  4. I believe the media probably took his words out of context. The media does this for anyone even if they are saying something positive. However, if Trump did say something close to this, then I believe he is no qualified to say. He has not served in the military in anyway. He has no idea what these brave men and women fight for daily. He has no idea what they have seen. He also has no idea some of the things they have done. Overall, he is not qualified in anyway to say something like this.

  5. I wouldn't be surprised if the media did change his words. They always take people's words out of context to make the story more interesting. I don't think Trump should make these judgments about veterans because he doesn't really know what it's like for them.

  6. If the media were to change the words of what Trump said it would not be shocking because of how much the media can twist people's words. Trump should not be quick to judge because he probably doesn't know how it feels like to be out in the field. There could be a possibility that the media is trying to help Hillary maybe because some people do not like the way Trump thinks.

  7. I don’t think Trump is in any position to be able to judge these veterans for what they are dealing with after coming home from war. Unless he has gone through the same experiences as they have, he cannot belittle them for their mental state after witnessing such a horrible thing such as combat. Although, I do think that the media twisted his words to make him sound worse than he really is. That’s the media’s job, to provide entertainment.

  8. I agree with Paul in the fact that the media takes a lot of words out of context for people. Trump does not have the qualifications to judge anyone that served for the country. I believe the media is trying to make Trump look worse than Hilary to give her higher chances

  9. I think the media would change his words to make them out of context. I do not think he is in any position to say whether it is or isn't tough for veterans to deal with mental disorders or PTSD. The media could possibly be bias, especially fox news.

  11. The media might have changed a couple of his words but either way trump says nasty things about people everyday and that's a fact. I do not think trump has the qualifications to speak about veterans.

  15. I agree with all of the above. Yes, media is putting Trump's words out of context and labeling him as an "anti-veteran" guy. Trump may be very conservative and not an experienced political leader, but he's still a person and we should treat him as such.

  17. Donald Trump is a Republican. Republicans want to make America great again. Republicans are patriotic. War veterans are patriotic. All the dots are connecting here, so I'm don't know why people are calling Trump out for not understanding war veterans.

  18. Yes, Media is taking Trumps words out of context and this could affect how many people vote for him. Lots of people just depend on the media to get their information about the debates or his speeches. Which the media can change the context in which he says things.

  19. I do believe the media is taking trumps words out of context when it labels him as an anti-veteran. However, I do not think he has the right to make such assertions about veterans. I do not think the media is purposefully trying to tear down trumpÅ› campaign. Instead, i think it is easier for the media to ridicule his actions versus clintonÅ›

  20. I have to disagree with Victor. The dots are not connecting at all. Donald Trump needs to gain the support of the war veterans if he wants to win the election, and after his comment on Monday, it will be very hard for him to come back from this. Trump made a comment and people shouldn't be blaming the media for is own words. Donald Trump has made comments towards groups of people in the past that are negative or hurtful and the media didn't take it out of context then, so why is this time any different?

  21. Democrats control the media because there are many millennials online versus the demographic of Republicans who are usually much older and are less likely to be using the internet. I do believe that Trump's words were taken out of content, purposefully knowing that Demo will be exposed to his ludicrous. Companies such as Buzzfeed should not be used a source of reliable information, and because of its large platform, it does have the power to influence other aspect of the medias. This powerful control over online media is so persuasive for candidates such as Clinton. Because of the distortion within his message towards veterans, i am not sure whether he is or is not qualified for these type of comments. Clinton is already at such an advantageous position that whatever the media does against Trump, it no longer has a strong effect anymore. But however, it does continue to spotlight Trumps just for the sake of his ridculousness.

  22. Trump's words speak for themselves, media talks and talks, but Trump simply is a rude person that is not fit to be a president in the sense that he speaks nonsense. Trump should not speak for veterans and he has no right to he was not present during war fighting for the country. He does not know what they feel after killing so many people so trump should not talk about veterans without knowing.

  23. I feel that even though Trump does make some outrageous comments, this one was taken out of context. He's statement was most likely meant to be interpreted as: "some veterans struggle with PTSD more than other." At least, that's what I hope he meant. I think the media is attempting to stir the pot, much like they do with all kinds of news.

  24. The mainstream media definitely takes trumps words out of context and tries to use it against him. At the same time Trump himself isn't exactly innocent or smart when it comes to PR himself. I dont think Trump has any right to speak about veterans and their struggle because he is so out of touch with these people. I think Trump calling senator Mccain out for being a POW and accusing him of not being a hero because of it is a perfect example of how ignorant Trump is when it comes to veterans and how much they have sacrificed for us.

  25. Although Trump is insensitive to a lot of people, in this situation the media took his words the wrong way. No he does not have the qualifications to be making statements about veterans coming back from a traumatic war since he has not been in a situation like that before. However, I feel like instead of calling them weak he was making it known that the average person can handle things seen everyday compared to a veteran that has returned from war and is sensitive to certain things.

  26. It's likely that the media could have taken Trump's words out of context, but then again he is well-known to say things without thinking in the first place. I definitely feel like Trump doesn't have the qualifications to make judgements such as these and that he should be careful of what he says.

  28. The social media has conveyed Trump as the "villain" in this debate. In order to reach the popular opinion of the people, I believe the media could have taken Trump's words out of context. However, I do not believe that Trump has the qualifications to make the judgments that he had made.

  29. I do think words were taken out of context. The social media is very good at making what people say look bad in order for someone else to be liked a little more.

  31. Trump's words were taken out of context and I feel like the media is trying to make him seem bad, which is kinda what he deserves because makes stupid comments and should not be president.

  32. No, because he didn't say anything that calls them "weak". I personally don't know about trumps background to be able to tell if he can or not judge veterans.Yes, i do the media may be trying to put Trump in a position where he begins to lose voters posed to gaining them.

  33. In this context, it would be wise to look at his exact words, dismissing every other idea people have set in stone about this man. Trump was not calling them weak and unable to handle war, he was commenting on the hellish and often unheard of conditions they go through which not every human can handle, even those who sign up to take part in it. It's a recognition of the brutality of their situation and the aid they need and deserve to be able to cope with their situation.

  34. In context, he is not calling them weak or incapable of handling war. However, I would not put it past him. I believe that in the instance he is trying to say that what they have to go through is extremely brutal, he just doesn't know how to say things correctly to get his point across. With this comment, the media is taking it out of context even though he probably has said something close to how they have taken this comment.

  35. I think trump did mean what he said and it's not taken out of context because of how he has judged other before. I do not think he qualifies to judge veterans because he has never had to go through what they have. I think trump is a cold hearted person who needs to keep his rude comments to himself and I think the media is trying to make Hilary look good so that she could win the elections.
